Send me (or any other administrator, doesn’t have to be me) an email. It’s best if you use the address you have listed in your profile here – it’s the only way we have to verify it’s really you and not someone being all humorous, we need to know it’s really from you.
Give us two or three new names you would like ranked in the order that you like them. We have many names already on the board and we don’t recycle so it’s possible you may have chosen a name currently in the database.
We’ll run down your list until we find a name that works. That’s your new name.
Remember that names have meaning and power here. Use wisely your privilege to choose. Management reserves the right of final approval on all names.
While we do not want people changing their names like they change their socks – we want you to find a name that pleases you and stick with it, by and large – for some people it takes more than one shot at it and we’re somewhat patient – within reason. Up to a point we are, anyway – after a couple of times we do start to question what you’re doing.
Tuba, your first post suggests to me a willingness to change a user’s name all too readily. I hope everyone that requests such realizes that all text references to names inside posts will NOT be altered, and will continue to refer to the old name. That, in my mind, would be one objection to a change.
And I’m perfectly happy with mine. Please don’t change it.
