I want to learn to play bagpipes.

One of our neighbours in Hamilton used to go practise the bagpipes in the cemetery across the street. Not quite enough noise to wake the dead, though we often felt he must have been damn close!

I want to learn to be a hockey goalie. I think it would be fun.

So, what… do you soak the reed in water?

I’d have to find the bloody thing. I don’t know if it has a real reed or a plastic one. But the effort of blowing it made me lightheaded in under a minute.

Let’s see:
Started learning Persian. Got about 400 words memorized. Forgot them. Have had book on kitchen table without even opening it for last 4 months.
Gonna happen? What do YOU think!!!

Best wishes,
hh

I want to learn how to use a sewing machine. A humble dream, I know. At present I don’t have the time nor the space to store one in the apartment.

No, you suck on it. Wet it with your saliva. But only if it’s cane.

If it’s a cane reed, you just pull the chanter apart and put the reed in your mouth for a bit and wet it with your saliva.

If it’s a plastic reed, no point in wetting it - in fact, a wet plastic reed will buzz.

The lightheadedness is a good sign - it’s an indication that you are at the initial stages of bagpipe nirvana. :wink:

No, lol. Out in the country.

Which country? :dubious::mad:
