While Shalebridge is difficult to top, the haunted hotel in Vampire:Bloodlines is also memorable. The first time I went through, it took me half an hour to complete it, simply because I was too scared to move more than a few feet at a time. And seriously, fuck that boiler room. Fuck it right to Hell.
Too bad it just doesn’t work twice.
Medical pavillion ? Hahaha. Just wait till she gets to Fort Frolic.
Uh-uh. Second playthrough, remember? Fort Frolic, while scary, didn’t terrify me anywhere near as much as Medical Pavilion. Sure, it was freaky and creepy but medical Pavilion was way more of Body Horror, which is one of the things that really do terrify me.
By then I was so inured to the goings on that I just watched Sander Cohen with a half-pissed, half-dubious look as he came down the stairs.
Nah, we’re trying to help you with a desensitization program! Personally, I recommend adding Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. It will inoculate you against bleeding walls, hearing voices, autopsy images, floors transforming into things that want to eat you, and finding your own corpse.
Not that any of that happens in BioShock, but you can’t be too prepared!
Memories of having to go through that hotel keep me from playing this game again. Best level on any game ever, i’ve never been that scared by a movie before.
Hey, my dad let me play bioshock 1, 2, 3, AND Infinite at 12! AND, I watched him play all through infinite when I was like 5, 6. Look, I am not trying to be rude or anything but I was not scared at all! Stop being such wusses and play the damn game. It’s not even that bad. You don’t need to turn down the dang volume, or put a damn paper bag over your head (you can’t even see with one on anyway) or do any stupid things like that. JUST PLAY THE GAME!!!
