I want to see "Transformers" redone darker & edgier

Watching it on TV right now and thinking how much kewler it would be if the Decepticons were not merely dauntingly powerful but viscerally frightening – and not at all in any way cartoonish. E.g., when the portable radio on Air Force One turns into a spy-robot, it should move around silently, without all that funny buzzing and stuff – not only because moving silently is a spy’s job, but because it make for better atmosphere. And I wanna see gore! Not slasher-movie gore, I mean war-movie gore!

Essentially I want to see what the original would have been, if the version we know had been based on it and redone for kiddies.

I’ve actually heard that was the director’s take on Prince Caspian, BTW: It was done as if it were based on a real historical war, and C.S. Lewis’ novel were a telling of that story for children, but now we’re telling something closer to the true story, for adults.

I wanted just the opposite. I had five year old kids that were BEGGING to see it…I let them see it after ripping the DVD and cutting out, literally, 30 seconds of footage.

transformers, by hasbro…you know, a TOY maker.

Toys can’t be evil?

In fact, there should be no laughs at all in the story that aren’t grim ones!

You must not have seen the original movie when you were a kid because that shit was cold!

Poor poor Ironhide :frowning:

I think we all know what we really wanted to see.

That, and a Starscream worthy of the name, not some kind of non-scheming bird/ape . . . thing.

Speaking of Starscream, I hope he tries to usurp Megatron in Part III. None of this “I was charge while you were gone”. They showed the tension between the two in the other movies. Now, become Starscream!

I also wanted the Dinobots, but looks like that’s not going to happen.

For some reason I can’t stop laughing right now.

Stupid edit window. Correct URL.

Dude, the trailer for 3 has the Spike-analogue pointing a Glock in someone’s face and screaming “Where is she!?”

Maybe “Darker and Edgier-er” would do better?
