I was kidnapped! No I wasn't! YES I WAS!

It did to me too - just before she turned up, I told a friend of mine that she had to be my witness that I was suspicious from the start… Silly, I know, but I just wanted to be on record before everyone thought I was just jumping on the suspicion bandwagon

Here in Connecticut we had a case of a teacher who had been threatened by a student of hers. As he neared parole, she started receiving more threatening letters. In the end, it turned out she had written them herself, because she didn’t want him to be paroled. Ahh the irony of her being in trouble and the student being exonerated.

I too had strong suspicions from the very start and you can be sure that the local cops, who by the nature of their job,had these same suspicions as well.I hope she can get the mental health treatment she needs.

True, but apparently you have paid $5 to post your stupid shit.

You can thank aenea for this next bit, as I read the FAQs and guidelines at his/her request and now know that the BBQ Pit is the proper forum for flaming:

Fuck off with your stupid shit, you five-dollar-wasting dingbat.

Wow, you’re all about making friends and stuff, aren’tcha? You go on with your bad self there.

Munchausen’s Syndrome, maybe?

Who, Audrey or StinkPop?

A few mental illnesses don’t present themselves until early to mid 20s. So at 20 years old, she’d be within the right age bracket for a mental illness to start manifesting itself.

Or she might just be an idiot. (Or pissed with her parents or boyfriend or what have she.)

I wonder if the “composite sketch” looks like anyone real.

My boss had to delay the start of her vacation because her husband, a Dane county cop, was called in on the search.

What particularly pissed er off was that the cops knew Audrey was making it up within a few hours of her “rescue” on Wednesday, and on Thursday he was still going through the motions of searching for a suspect that they all knew didn’t exist. They had been planning to be on the road to the Gulf coast, heading for a week of fun in the sun.

HAHAHAHA!!!

I don’t think anything’s wrong with her. I have nothing whatsoever to back that up, I just don’t think so.

What I’m pissed off about is that CNN decided that coverage of dogs walking around was more important than Crossfire.

IANAP/D, but I doubt it:

Yeah, especially after the two girls in North Dallas.

They were “rescued” by police after calling from their cell phones from the trunk of their car. They claimed to have been kidnapped from a bar or party and placed there by the kidnapper(s).

They then recanted their story saying they’d made it all up, then, they recanted AGAIN, saying that yes, it had happened after all.

I looked and looked for an online link. Haven’t found one yet. sorry.

It really makes you wonder though, about people that are that desparate for that kind of attention.

Grrrr I had posted a reply but the hamster ate it.

In any event:

From the DallasNews.com (you have to register to see the article, so I’m just quoting a bit here)

Interesting.
The article concludes by saying: * Fort Worth police are adding up the costs of the search, the helicopter time, and the tracing of the 911 call. If charged and convicted, the women could be liable for those costs. *

Hijack
Thanks TellMe…, I’m on (uGGGGHhhh) dialup, so when I have more than a few sites open, I tend to reallly lag. I did see the one where you had to register, but those seem to create the worst lag of all.

Appreciate it.

 I’d die on dialup!

(Most commonly uttered phrase within earshot of me: “How many windows do you have open???”)

Had I known. I might have seriously considered staying in Alaska, I thought things would be ultra modern in the states. :frowning:

Best line I’ve seen all week!
