Last night marked part 3 of the CBC Newsworld story about Second City. It featured the likes of Mike Myers, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara and Tina Fey talking about Second City and its history and such. And near the end of the program, who appeared on the screen but yours truly, performing various bits of improv with my castmates from the show I did for SC awhile ago.
I had no idea I’d be on television, much less get so much airtime, but there I was!

Congrats! A friend down here at Sak loaned me a copy of Guru, the book about Del Close. I’m hoping that maybe next year I can go up there and take one of their weekend intensive courses or something. We’ll see.

The courses are well worthwhile, IG… I went through the conservatory classes as well as the writing and stand-up classes, and it really helped a lot. Unfortunately, I’m not doing the improv much anymore, since I’m now working full-time, but I’m hoping to fix that soon enough.
My fiance is lucky enough to be doing mainstage pretty regularly as an understudy. The show this year is great, you should check that out as well. They often have coupons and such, and if you’re a student, you get 1/2 price.
And thanks, Nic… I was totally geeking-out-excited that I was on a program with that list of people involved.
