I watched 3 junk movies and had a ball!

Gotta say, I hated Total Recall. I was all pumped to see it, because I’d recently seen “The Terminator” for the first time and loved it, and I was in the mood for another Schwarzenegger action hit, but I thought that one stunk up the screen.

I saw Demolition Man and Total Recall that day, too!

I hated Demolition Man on first viewing, but I have to admit it’s gotten better with repeated viewing. My favorite bit? “I’m a seamstress?!?”

Total Recall is always a hoot.

I’ve never seen Starship Troopers, but I loved the book, so I should love the movie, right?

I also saw Armageddon that weekend. Whatta piece of crap! I love it.

I don’t mind watching any of them on a slow day. Starship Troopers, as bad as it is, is at least somewhat fun to watch with all the infoganda bits.

And say what you want to about Starship Troopers, it’s still light years ahead of the direct-to-cable sequel, which wasn’t a good war movie, wasn’t a good action movie, wasn’t a good horror movie, wasn’t a good camp movie.

Actually, it just wasn’t a good movie, period.

I like Philip K. Dick too much for Total Recall to be anything but hurtful to me. A decent pulp story, completely disrespected in favour of completely insulting crap.

Not to say that I don’t have a healthy respect for Heinlein (though I haven’t had much of an urge to reread his stuff since I was in my twenties,) but I liked Starship Troopers a lot, the second time I saw it. (Absolutely hated it the first time.)

I don’t know about the three shells – or anything else in Demolition Man

Forgot to say: I’m totally with you on Timecop, BiblioCat. That’s an awesome movie. And any movie with Bruce McGill in it gets major bonus points from me.

Timecop also features the most hilarious death scene I’ve ever seen. I guess it’s supposed to be gruesome, but… I’m referring to When the senator played by Ron Silver has his “future” and “present” self occupying the same space–and he turns inside out! Or something. Bwahaha!

Loved all three of the OP’s movies. I had a junk movie double feature last night.

Ginger Snaps Back and Captain Kronos. Beat that!!

I love the Ginger Snaps movies. I don’t consider them junk at all. In fact I think they’re much better written than almost any other horror movie out there, not that that’s saying a lot. Think Buffy but with much much more gore. I did not see the ending of GSB coming at all, and I figured out the twist in The Sixth Sense almost immediately.
