Yeah, I get that too. I’m usually a 4 or 6 but sometimes an 8 in shorts or jeans.
Here’s me at my lowest weight of 129.0 pounds. (and that’s kind of a cheating 129, I knew if you leaned forward the scale read lower) I’m not emaciated in the slightest at 5’5" and I don’t have a particularly small frame.
Those commericals always show a perfectly toned person in the after shots with defined muscles. Anyone who’s ever watched a plastic surgery show knows that if someone loses that much weight, they have all that extra skin hanging off of them.
A size four would be big for me, probably. I’m 5’4" and weigh 97 pounds (I went to the doctor yesterday). I’m healthy, though, and I’ve always been very skinny.
Oh, and the hair care industry hate you too. Don’t take it personal. It’s just that you ( yes, YOU!) are the only hold out with the cheapie shampoo and conditioners. Look, white rain and suave is for peasants. If you want to be beautiful, skinny and have gay men run their fingers through your silky, silky locks, you need to buy the stuff that is at least $25 for an ounce. No, don’t compare the ingredients on the back of the bottles…that’s cheating!
I would have included that in the original memo, but I was still having aftershocks from Organic Shampoo’s orgasma inducing hair wash…and then had to escape a horde of angry bees who think I’m some kind of passionflower.
I was shopping at a favorite store last year. I found something I liked, but there were none left in my size on the rack, so I flagged down a salesgirl.
Me: “Excuse me, do you have this in a size 10?”
Size 0 twiggy salesgirl: “Oh, sorry, we don’t have any big sizes left.”
Needless to say, I don’t shop at that particular boutique anymore.
Going from a size ten to a four won’t usually do that to you, even if you lose weight really quickly. Extra skin usually comes from someone who’s been truly obese (ie, NOT a size 10), and had gastric bypass or similar surgery, and loses weight much more quickly than they would with diet/exercise. Especially if you’re young, and the people in these ads usually are, your skin is pretty elastic and can bounce back pretty well.
But yeah, your fram has a lot to do with what size you’ll be. I have a medium frame according to my doctor, and have clothes ranging from an 8 to a 12 (mostly 10’s now, but that’s a recent change). I’m 5’3" and weigh about 160, a lot of which is muscle. I’ve got some to lose, but I’ve been a size 8 before and I was pretty thin. For me, less than that is too skinny b/c I’d have to sacrifice muscle. Also, I have booty - and booty takes up a lot of room in pants! Someone with a different body type than me could easily be a size 4 or 2 or 12 and be healthy, we just couldn’t share clothes.
