I will never complain about the phone company again…

This is enough to make Soviet service look positively stellar in comparison!

“There were tears of joy in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, on Monday when a former bank employee celebrated the installation of his landline telephone after 27 years waiting. Mohammed Ismail, 60, applied to the state-run Bangladesh telephone company to install the line in May 1976. But like thousands of other customers he was left hanging on for a long time. “I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to get my telephone connection. I suppose its because I’m an ordinary customer who didn’t pay any bribes,” Mr Ismail said.”

Wow. I think I would’ve complained after five or ten years.

DONT show this to AT&T execs, whatever you do.

If they are anything like Qwest they will charge him a years wage in connection fees… and a months wage worth of hidden charges every month…
if he’s lucky…
I really, really loathe Qwest.

… but at least QWest could get his phone hooked up in 26 years

27 years - hrmphhh - the horror!

Just wait until he tries to get DSL!!!

Well he’ll probably get DSL before me.

Broadband Britain! Everyone will have ADSL in 500 years, and this time, we mean it.
