No problem. Just don’t make the same mistake again, and all will be forgiven.

So what species is this that is doomed?
AOL Bullshiticous?
Yahooticous Dramaticous?
Youtubebica Florensis?
Troglodyte Trollessis?
You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn’t it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe.

Just our species?
Man, I wish those bears would stop with the bullshit.

Some people see the glass is half empty. Some see it as half full.
And some see a lifetime of raising kids, having sex, surfing, having a beer, eating a nice meal, reading a good book, diving, watching a good film, playing a good computer game, making friends, dancing badly, kissing, mountain biking, having more sex, cuddling, lighting a fire on a cold night, listening to good music, being the first person to get into beds with new sheets on, hitting a perfect slapshot, carving a trail on fresh snow and however many other fun things you might care to name…and dismiss it as being “doomed to death in a shitty universe”
Well thank fuck for death. Immortality would only lead to ennui. Without a limit or end, then the experience would be lacking in context.

Whatever is in that glass, I’m guessing it’s fucking organic.

I think it very interesting how the OP just assumes he’s a “good person.”

If evil triumphs when good men do nothing, what happens when good men preach nothingness?
xkcd says that he’s suffering in an uncaring universe. He doesn’t believe in God. He believe that there are other sentient beings in the universe. He believes that consciousness evolved. He believes that the cure is the extinction of consciousness.
xkcd is either a Buddhist or a solipsist.

My guess is more along the lines of an article of footwear, worn between the foot and the shoe. Size QG.

I appreciate your kindness, but I resent how people always claim that bitterness/discontentment like mine is just a ‘youthful phase’.

Sweetie, if it’s not, please get some help, the feelings you’ve shared throughout this thread are NOT a normal part of the human condition or “tragedy of our species” as you say.
Please define “sheep-like” life, and describe a life that, for you, would not be “sheep-like”. Though you’re seriously misguided, you are obviously intelligent and articulate, you can make any sort of life for yourself that you want.
You are not going to be able to talk other people out of their various faiths, education, or goals. And for that matter, why does it bother you so much? You live in a free country, you can do, within the law, whatever you like regardless of whether your neighbors believe in God, or science.
My guess is that our troubled OP was surprised by his big sister, who found him using her laptop and whacking over pictures of her friends on MySpace and has banished him to a month of litter box duty, lest she tell Papa how he was discovered, red-fisted in her bedroom.

If you want to kill yourself, go for it, that’s your right.
But don’t bring me into it. I like this universe.
In regards to the OP, not in response to the OP: Youth is wasted on the young. They don’t appreciate it.
I want all the ‘bad’ people to be destroyed, and then I want all the ‘good’ people to live forever in a paradise with complete understanding of the universe. I can’t be happy without that. /thread.

You have, therefore, done what is known as setting yourself up for failure. Nobody but you decided to set such stringent and ridiculously unachievable prerequisites for your happiness. You can’t be happy because you’ve decided to make it impossible for you to be happy. What’s the bloody point of that?

Serious question. Can you define who the ‘bad’ people are? And who are the ‘good’ ones?
