I wish posters would stop using the term "MAGAt"

Repulsivecans and Demoncrats will never agree.

I have to say I find the hand wringing somewhat amusing. They’re shooting unarmed women in the face but we need to avoid stooping to their level.

Exactly, and people wonder why the left always succumbs to circular firing squads.

I just find it less dehumanizing and more just not particularly clever and that it wears more the more people say it. Much like the many nicknames for Trump, or Musk, or any other number of people. Or even corporations; for example, I got sick of people using M$ for Microsoft over 25 years ago.

Bullying is bullying. If you think that’s okay, we’ll have to disagree.

At what point in history was it o.k. to call a Nazi a Nazi?

Same for me, with my dad. He was an engineer; kind of guy who could build anything and would read everything. My mom was no slouch, either. Started out as a teller in a bank, ended up a senior VP.

Both of them swore* like sailors, and had no compunctions at all about calling an asshole an asshole, when they felt it was deserved.

“Smart people don’t swear” is provincial-minded bullshit.

*Mom still does, dad died about ten years ago.

Won’t someone please think of the poor fascists’ feelings!

We sure wouldn’t want to make people who support locking people up without due process, concentration camps, appeasing the likes of Putin, threatening our allies, wrecking our economy, and shooting unarmed women feel uncomfortable.

Sometimes it’s really okay to belittle assholes.

Is calling people names for the evil that they do the same as doing the evil that they do? Would you prefer that we treat them the same way they want to (and oftentimes do) us?

Here is a great alternative: Call them “MAGA Sympathizers” every time you refer to them, especially to their faces. Surely, if being MAGA is a good thing (and it must be if they proudly wear it on their hats and shirts), then “MAGA Sympathizer” couldn’t possibly be an insulting term.
Right?

MAGSIMPS?

I believe that one of their recent famous quotes was, “Haven’t you people learned anything yet?” before punching a peaceful protestor in the face.

If you want to call them Asshats instead, fine… but people… please don’t deprive us of the pleasure of using our words ( especially words that they can neither understand nor spell ).

Definitely not. Your suggestion can still be taken as an insult, while both of the words I use can (separately,), still be perfectly acceptable…to them.

Won’t someone please think of fighting fascism rather than calling names?

When they called themselves Nazis.

This. I put it in the same bucket as people writing cow-worker.

No, using the phrase, especially on line and then to a crowd that mostly feels as you do, isn’t standing up to bullies or making any sort of stand. It is more akin to continuing asking to throw something into a quarry and signing Regards.

You do you kids! Six seven and all that!

MAGA-holes

So what you want is a fight where one side is polite and follows the rules, and the other simply…doesn’t?

I believe the term is “cow-orker”.
