Maybe more than you wanted to know about serifs. Simple tests included.
Thanks, looks much better now. Is there an easy way I could play around with the fonts?
The only way I know is to learn enough CSS to edit the script in the Stylus extension.
Go into the Stylus extension’s configuration (how varies by browser, in Firefox visit the URL ‘about:addons’ then click the three dots by the Stylus extension’s name and then click Preferences in the menu that drops down) then click the script’s name in the list which takes you to a screen where you can edit and save the script. You’ll probably have to reload the SDMB after you’ve edited and saved the script to see it actually take effect.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
The way the stylesheet is set up now, you could also go to the font options in your browser settings and change the “serif” font.
Though, of course, that may affect other websites. Editing the CSS will make it only work on the SDMB.
Thanks for the clear and easy explanation! I chose the font options, so Palatino Linotype it has become. I like that font, but will play around occasionally, depending on the other sites I visit and how it affects them. Did not see any problems so far.
