Still sorting out the wrinkles of the new Mac. Very pretty, but I’m a bit disappointed in the process after it asked if I wanted to move everything over from the Time Machine. It meant EVERYTHING, including obsolete PowerPC apps, extensions for hardware I haven’t had in five years, startup things for other obsolete and long-gone hardware, and similar cruft.
Then, I went to get Mavericks, and ferreted out more obsolete gunk. :rolleyes:
In hindsight, I probably should have trashed the Applications and Library folder on the old Mac, leaving nothing but my home directory and data.
OTOH, most of the apps I actually use slid right in, email just happened and even the location of files and whatnots on the desktop were unchanged. Minor magic, that.
Howdy from da cave! Irk, well, that’s why it’s called irk cause it was irky. Glad to be back in da cave. 'Tis a balmy 81 Amurrkin out and niiiiiiiiiiiiiice. There’s ham 'n bean soup and stuff to make sammiches with for dindin so that’ll be easy. This whole week is dedicated to chili, soup and sammiches.

I drink Folger’s and Maxwell House coffee black. None of that fancy-schmancy stuff here. I drink two to three cups in the mornin’ and that’s it for the day.
Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, wedgies, chitlins, trouts, kisses, how you doin’s as needed.

I just put almond milk in my coffee. A bit of sugar if I got the unflavored almond milk. At irk I have to use flavored creamers, so I just put one or two of those in and it’s good. I’ve gotten to the point I can’t stand the over sweetened coffee shop drinks. I blame Starbucks, but I guess they have to do that because the burn all the coffee. All of it. Even the light roast. They’re a bunch of burninatin’ bastards.
Got a lot of errands run this morning and came home with a bigger pile of books than I left with. It was a good trip.
I like my coffee like I like my women. Ground into a fine powder and immersed in hot water.:eek:
actually I like a little creme in mine.

What a day!! Idiot dog started barking at 4:15, and even tho my sweetie got up to deal with her, I couldn’t fall back to sleep. I ended up leaving lots earlier than usual, leaving time to swing by the credit union and deposit a check in the night drop, then meet up with BBBobbio in the pre-dawn. He claims I bit him - I’m not all that sure I was coherent, but I suspect he lies!! 
Missy Prissy just about got on my last nerve today, countermanding what I was told last week. I swear, if I could find another drafting job nearby, I’d take my crayons and leave. She insists on procedures that are totally counter to conventional good drawing practice, not to mention not in accordance with the various instructions and manuals that we’re supposed to be following. I give up - if they want shitty drawings, they’ll get shitty drawings. I may use a fake name in the signature block.
Supper is steak and salad and crescent rolls, because it’s quick and easy. I suspect bedtime will be early, considering Higgs got us both up. Glad this day is over!!!
Moanday sucks.
Got invited to 2 Halloween parties. Need to think of a costume now.
My friend in elementary school had an idea - stick Smarties to a pair of pants and call yourself a Smartypants. Hmm, I just might steal that idea…

Supper was OK - I think I need to quit buying cheap bleu cheese dressing - this stuff was pretty bad. I don’t use a lot, so I need to splurge on the good stuff. I’m worth it.
I saw on the news that we turn our clocks back this weekend - I hate when it’s dark at 5…

If it was Trogdor Coffee I might buy it, but they’ve convinced their fanbase that burned is how coffee tastes. When I complain about it, I get “Well, that’s just the dark roast.” No. No it is not.
I really hate tarbuck, can you tell? Fortunately, we at the Stately Manor have another option: Dune-inspired Spice Coffee! Dump a teaspoon of cinnamon in the brewbasket with the grounds and there. you. go.

I did work experience at an aquarium where lots of the fish et beef heart- one of my jobs was squidging it through a mincer. Should probably have put that in last week’s MMP, 'cos it was really messy and 'orrible.
Been off today, had a loooong lie in, and lazy day. My eczema’s flaring up badly, and sometimes having a lazy day spent mostly in bed can really help- that does not appear to be the case this time though Hope it’s not an allergy.
