The pre-hijacked/tetched in the head MMP

Ha! First with an MMP!

I’m known for doing weird stuff. This weekend, I slept on the back porch on a night when the temperature was supposed to drop into the 20s and the winds were howling. No, my wife did not kick me out. I have an arctic rated sleeping bag, and I was testing it. It worked just dandy, but I did not get much sleep because of the previously mentioned winds. And the dogs went nuts over the big green lump on the deck at their 0330 pee break (but not on me).

What odd things have you done recently that have perfectly logical (to you) reasons?

First! Woot!

Everything I do is perfectly logical as far as my head is concerned, otherwise I wouldn’t do it, right? I did go through a time when I was trying to do too much for too many people and I was running myself ragged with it, decided not to do that any more and I am much better off.

Oh, fire-breathing, that was logical, never know when you might need that particular skill.

As for the sleeping bag, if you bought an arctic rated one, where else would you test it out apart from the back porch in sub-zero temperatures, assuming you couldn’t actually get to the arctic with it?

BTW, it’s Monday and I has a blurf and a serious case of the Don Twannas.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 36 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 56 and windy for the day. Tonight and tomorrow we’re supposed to have rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see.

I don’t know if’n I do any really odd things. I am as mundane and predictable as they come most of the time. I’m really borin’. Heck, I bore myself.

Today I’m travelin’ down to the lower southeast forty to deal with some irk stuff that I must deal with personally. I had considered doin’ this tomorrow but with all the predicted ick for tomorrow I’d rather get it out of the way today. Thus I am waitin’ a little bit later to leave da cave as it’s just easier to go from here than from the orifice. See how excitatin’ my life is!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh. At least it’s a short irk week.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Morning all,

Don’t you just hate when you were in a good mood (for a Monday), sit down, read your first email, which is a nasty gram from your boss, and just want to cry. Yeah. Its a short week, only working today and tomorrow, but I expect before I leave tomorrow, I will get a “talking to” from my boss over her unclear direction. Just the way I want to start my holiday…NOT! I have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow and was hoping to get off early, but have a mandatory meeting with her at 1400. After she finishes yelling at me and my co-irkers she will want to tell sea stories for a half an hour at least. UGH! At least I got quite a bit done this weekend in preparation for Thursday. There is more to do but I didn’t leave it all for Wednesday, like I usually do.

I do lots of things that baffle people, but they make perfect sense to me. I would not sleep out in the cold in an arctic-rated sleeping bag, but that’s because I’m not a fan of sleeping outdoors, period. Many people who know me would ask why in the name of sanity I would go into New York on a chilly Saturday afternoon just to see an entertainment event that was literally being broadcast around the world when I could just as easily watch it from my house. And yet, that was my weekend.

I expect this week to be slow at irk, heading down to Maryland in the arms of Winter Storm Boreas on Wednesday night. I’m already tired and I want to go home.

Blurf.

Doing silly things with fire seems perfectly logical to me, BooFae! I tend to pass on breathing it, as it can make your teeth fall out (or kill you if you’re really unlucky, but most people seem more bothered about the teeth thing), but I’ve done fire eating.

Anyway. Today at least, I should stop messin’ about, and start doing sensible things, because I have a pretty long list of sensible things I need to do.

Mawnin all and happy Moanday.

I am up caffinating and off shortly to install an emergency hot water heater. This is becoming a recurring theme in my life.

Happy T-Week for the Merkins.

Cheers all

Jim

I’m with boofae, everything I do is logical inside my own head.

There is an Icepocalypse scheduled for this week. Was I right in my first snow prediction? We shall see! We shall also see if my Alternate Ice Route is a good one for keeping me from playing slip-n-slide down No Left Turn Avenue. I do not like skidding out.

Today I have nothing to do. I think I’ll finish up the sparkly wings I started last night and top off my cup o’ caffienation.

I adopted a 46lbs Jack Russell terrier. I win the thread.

Spaz, I saw that. None in my neck of the woods, though.

Happy Moonday!

It’s an f’ing frigid 21 degrees outside with a projected high of 37.
BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr!!!
I’m actually cold inside today. I hope I don’t have to go out but I think I will. I’m pretty sure Sah-son needs food.

Tetched in the head? Who me? Never!.
I’m just too blurfy to think of any.

:eek::eek::eek: And I thought I was overweight!

Not much going on here. It’s cold and windy but it is northern Illinois. I’m celebrating Thanksgivukkah with my Jewish friend. My mother had a box of menorah candles that she used for her Swedish wind chimes. I gave the candles to Deborah and she’s using them in her menorah. That makes me feel good.

I can’t think of anything weird I’ve done that wasn’t perfectly acceptable to those around me. I have weird friends.

also BLURF!

Rosie-the Doctor-wife???

WTH is going on?

Rule #1 for a good workday - remember that they changed your schedule for one day; don’t go to work 3.5 hrs early because you forgot about it.

That was close…

It’s a short week, so let’s pack as much drama into it as we can! That is the irkweek theme, so far. I have put two people on leave without pay pendin’ exit from services this mornin’. Thus goeth my day down in the southeast forty.

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

It’s a brisk 33 degrees here in Portlandia, and the skies are clear. Not looking forward to working another Thanksgiving-boss just sent out a notice that no one is getting that period off. That makes 20 Thanksgivings, all Monday holidays and most Christmas’s and New Years that I’ve had to work. Hang on…gullllllp…coffee good!

We just reached 30 degrees American in the high country! Heat wave!

I slept outside on a balcony in Italy because it was nice and warm out. Was tired the next day though.

As for logical-to-me things, I sometimes take my bass clarinet for a walk - walk around the neighbourhood carrying it. It’s so I can get used to carrying it around and carrying it places. That thing is damn heavy.

I have one “peculiar” habit. I eat one vine-ripe tomato with my lunch every day. Every. Day. And the grocery store must hate me because I hand select each one…no bunch of maters for me…mmm, mmm…nope…nuh uh.

Sixty-nine Murkin here right now and partly sunny. We’re due to get brushed by the snowpocalypse but it’s just going to make a lovely seasonal Thanksgiving Day (for Florida).

Anybody ever brine a turkey? Is it hard? How long does it take?

Jynx, I really hate…HATE…that kind of passive aggressive behavior on the part of a manager. Face me and let’s discuss, for crying out loud.

Czar, :frowning:

DoggieB, you needed something to blame your weirdness on.

Done it, will do it again this year. We’re using a citrus based brine, FWIW. The process takes 8-24 hours, and I’m budgeting 12.

I can provide details later when I get home if anyone is interested.
