Had a great weekend. Saw Alton Brown last night. It was a fantastic show. He did some really cool things and was so funny! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.
The couch repair dude actually came during the time slot that they said they would on Friday. He repaired the couch and left. All in all, after the debaucle of getting them to come out it went well.
Slow day at irk as all of the gubermint folks are out.

Second! But only because I was waiting for gt to start this week’s one. I’m not known for being first at anything, unless it’s first out of the office at home time…not so great now since I’m the only one in my office!
I don’t have to work today either, at least not at my paying job. But I do have a ton of housework, which I’m putting off by reading and posting on the Dope.
Some restaurants are letting veterans eat free today, but I’m not going to try and take them up on that, since I don’t have any physical proof, other than photos, that I was in the Army. My discharge papers are in my safe deposit box today, and because of the holiday… Nobody ever seems to think a middle aged woman is a veteran anyway.
Happy Veteran’s Day Deathmistress! You can eat free at my place whenever you want. We can commiserate on how the old people on our lists are remaining alive. (Billy Graham was mocking me last week with his Big Woo-Ha 95th Birthday Party down the street from me.)
I did manage to venture out for a short walk yesterday, but that was about it. I can’t do too much right now due to Great Discomfort. Hopefully that will pass soon.
Someone cancelled on the Meetup I signed up for this Thursday so I’ll be able to go! I’m taking my cross-stitch since I’m taking a break from crochet. Also, I’m really getting into the picture I’m making for Irish Storyteller. I’ll take a picture of it in progress and put it on LJ sometime this week.
Off to laundry and library! Once I finish this coffee. A girl’s got to have priorities, you know.
I can’t think of anything I’m first for. I’m last for a lot of things, but I’m usually okay with that.
This weekend I dyed my hair an unnatural color, spent a hundred dollars on lipstick, and figured out that I probably don’t have dry socket, but instead just a big hole in my mouth that effing hurts. The good news is that it has definitely started hurting less, so I’m calling that a win.
I would be happier about that if I was working more on other days, but it’s going to be a tight few weeks for cash… It should pick up soon though, especially as several of my co-workers have actually told me they’re quitting soon.
I think I’m busy demonstrating that antibiotics will not help with a cold at the moment- halfway through a pack for a skin infection, and I think I’m just coming down with a cold from my housemate, who’s off sick today. Oh well, it does seem to be clearing up the eczema!
I’m makin’ death chikin for dindin tonight. This has nuttin’ to do with anything which is why I am postin’ it here. That and I have a pack of chikin laigs and a pack of chikin thighs. I prefer dark meat for death chikin. Oh and death chikin is good so that’s another reason to make it I suppose.
I still haven’t ironed. I might though. Maybe.

That’s easy to answer; I started it. It is modeled after a Bloom County panel showing Opus with one eye wide open and the other scrunched shut, with cartoon pops going off around his head while he mumbles “Blurf” after waking up from a very deep sleep. I’ve been on a 3 year quest through my BlCo library to find it as a reference, and haven’t so far. At least I’m having a damned good time searching.
What is death chicken? Do you have a receipe and does it include an iron? If we don’t have a real iron can we substitute a waffle iron? Curious mimes want to know.
Oh, I smoked a turkey this weekend for T-giving practice. There shore was a lot of curious things stuffed inside. I felt like CSI doing a second autopsy. My conclusion, someone kilt this turkey!
Mornin’ Mumpers. At work with no work to do. I may knit, but the guy in the cube next to mine makes fun of me (he’s just jealous because his department is busy and mine isn’t).
My organic produce box comes today. Yay!

Laundry’s been done. I shall now spend the day cutting bags because I lead a thrilling and exciting life. Also, because moving around too much, as I mentioned before, causes Great Discomfort.
