I just got an email from a magazine I occasionally buy - turns out I’ve won the top prize in their competition - a Netgear wireless networking bundle worth 300 quid! - a wireless router/firewall, a NAS device, and a couple of wireless adaptors - one USB2 and one PCMCIA - and it is actually a competition I remember entering - not just one of those advance fee scams.
I’d love to keep it - especially the Storage central NAS device, but I’m going to steel myself and sell it all on brand new and unopened; this windfall came at exactly the right time for me, as it looked like next spring’s long-awaited holiday to Spain (first time abroad with the kids) had been scuppered by the unexpected expense of a leaky roof.
Just so long as you don’t have to send them a check (er, cheque) first to handle processing.
