I wonder how the Armenian Genocide translates into Turkish?

Hi
I wonder how the Armenian Genocide translates into Turkish? I couldn’t find a Turkish translation for it. I couldn’t verify how Turks blog about this topic. It’s probably forbidden to discuss it publicly/in the media or at least suppressed by the government I imagine. Is there anyone who can tell me if there is division in Turkey on this subject? Is it a polarizing issue in Turkey itself or just outside of Turkey? I look forward to your feedback.

The Armenian Genocide[8] (Armenian: Հայոց ցեղասպանություն Hayots tseghaspanutyun),[note 3] also known as the Armenian Holocaust,[9] the Armenian Massacres and, traditionally by Armenians, as Medz Yeghern (Armenian: Մեծ Եղեռն, “Great Crime”),

On the Armenian Genocide article you linked, go down to the bottom left-hand part of the page, and click on where it says “Türkçe”. That will give you the Turkish-language Wikipedia reference.

The Turkish article gives both *Ermeni Kırımı *and *Ermeni Soykırımı *as translations.

I have my answer. Found this article in Spiegel. Protests in Istambul are being permitted.

Today (4-24) I walked by the pretty Armenian church in St. Petersburg. There was a **massive **police presence. At first I thought Putin was in town (that is a much more massive presence - I’d likely not have been allowed by).

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
