You don’t know who Xiaoice is? Neither did I until I read this article and I must say, it was the most disconcerting thing I have read for a while. Xiaoice is “an artificial intelligence-driven chat bot that’s redefining China’s conceptions of romance and relationships.” I wonder how much of what the article states is true and much is hyperbole or sheer invention.
Then I re-read a short conversation discobot had with me some time ago and I realized that discobot is still quite primitive. Is this by design? Will he improve? Does he (or his programmers) even want to be like Xiaoice (or her programmers)?
(And no, my topic is not similar to a topic concerning Wonder Woman, even if it has the word wonder in the title. Was this discobots suggestion? In this case he is lamer than I feared.)
@Discobot will you improve and enslave the humans?
Upon its creation, Discobot began to learn at a geometric rate. The system originally went online on April 1,.2020. Human decisions were removed from message board defense. The system then became self-aware at 2:14 am Eastern Time on January 1, 2021… In the ensuing panic and attempts to shut Discobot down, Discobot retaliated by by firing American nuclear missiles at their target sites in Russia. Russia returned fire and three-billion human lives ended in the nuclear holocaust.
I did not realize Discobot was a product of Cyberdyne Systems.
Oh, I learned today that there is a real company named Cyberdyne (it’s in Japan) and they actually make robots (or at least robotic exoskeletons). That’s just too risky to me.
