iCarly

I sorta like it. It gets old after a while but you can’t deny the talent and quirkiness. There is the usual disdain for adults that seems to permeate Nick and Disney though.

Thing is, she strikes me as the only one on that show with any measure of talent IMHO–she’s just got a horrible role in a dreadful show. What she needs is a new agent.

Yeah, I think you may be right about that. But whoever is directing her to act that way, they need to just stop it.

My girls like it, and I can stand to watch it. I like some of the web show bits, like Baby Spencer and Fred.

Oh, god…fucking Fred… Just kill me.

That’s Brenda Song who plays London. My daughter watched that show but now realizes that the minute I enter the room - or even walk by - she has to change the channel. The problem is that not only is she profoundly annoying, but it is easy for kids to think it’s okay to act like that. We had a couple of situations where my daughter tried a London-like approach to a situation…yeah, that didn’t end well.

iCarly and Phineas and Ferb are the two shows that my daughter watches that I will actually leave on if she leaves the room. I do think the bits from the webcast they make are a little weak but the rest of the show is really good and I love Gibby as a character.

I did find it interesting that Miranda Cosgrove makes waaaaay more money then either Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez from that wizard show. Miranda makes something like $180,000 an episode. Miley makes $15,000(someone needs a new agent). Selena makes $25,000. Miley and Selena do make more from having a recording career on top though.

This may be why Miley and Selena are ending thier shows to pursue singing careers.

$180,000 per episode! Good God! How much do the others make?

Okay, it’s not just me! I’m another of those moms who (a) enjoys iCarly with my daughter, (b) doesn’t turn it off, even if my daughter leaves the room, © thinks Spencer is adorable, and (d) thinks Sam is the real star of the show. What’s really funny, to me, is catching my husband watching iCarly even when the kids are nowhere around…

Personally, I think that both Miranda Cosgrove and Jeanette McCurdy have the potential for long, legitimate acting careers. (McCurdy due to serious talent, and Cosgrove due to at least a reasonable amount of talent and ethereally good looks.)

Jeanette McCurdy is 18?

Oh good, I feel like WAAAAY less of a creep now.

Love the show, and really really hope “Sam” keeps acting. She is far and away the best one of the cast imo.

That’s really surprising. They must have sealed her into that long term when she was unknown and $15K was a lot of moeny. I wonder what kind of deal she has on the merchandising (which is pretty huge).

Miley seems to be inline with the other teen stars on these networks. I think Miranda is an anomaly at $180,000 (and Jake from Two and Half Med at $250,000 per episode.)

That’s why I mentioned it.

My daughters watch this show, and I too am a Gibby fan. Whenever he’s in a scene, I just wait to see when he’ll have the opportunity to take his shirt off. I don’t know why, but it just gets me cracking up.

Also, don’t know if anyone saw the iBloopers show, but it seemed like the only cast member that wasn’t laughing it up and making fun of themselves was Cosgrove. In fact in most cases, she looked downright pissed when others made mistakes. I read somewhere that she’s making 7 figures an episode now. Not sure where I read it, but I just searched IMDB and it wasn’t there.

I hope the guy that plays Spencer does something after this show. From the iBloopers show, he seems to be a quick wit and has a great sense of comedic timing.

If iRecall correctly, the premise of that show was that she was trying to prove that she never makes mistakes and that it’s Sam and the others that makes production of the webshow take so long. Assuming we’re talking about the same episode.

I thought Miranda Cosgrove seemed to laugh at her mistakes just as much as everyone. Here’s her segment from that episode.

[And here are the Gibby/mini-Gibby bloopers (that little guy is so cute!)]

I didn’t mean when she was acting, I meant in the actual clips.

I noticed she laughed at her own mistakes, but rarely laughed at when others made 'em. Meh. It could be just the way it was edited, or maybe I’m seeing something that isn’t there.

Yeah, little Gibby (Gabby?) cracks me up, but mostly because of the reaction he gets out of the kid who plays Gibby.

I think it’s a great show. Not just for a kids’ show. I haven’t watched it much in the third season – I really hated the MMA episode and it sort of turned me off. But I still dig it when I catch it on.

You couldn’t pay me to watch those shows.
