I work at home. I don’t have AC. I keep my windows open all day.
My house is at the end of a street that is perpendicular to another street. A sort of “through street” with a 35 MPH speed limit where people drive at least 45 MPH because there’s no reason to stop. While I am in a “the neighborhood” the houses over there are on “the street.”
Some kids over there are trying to sell some lemonade. To people driving by at 45 MPH. These people are not gonna stop. But the kids are persistent.
“Ice-cold-le-mo-nade. Cooooomeandgetit!”
over. and over. and over again. For the last half hour. I think there’s three of them. Or two. Or maybe ten (probably just one).
It’s only now drowned out by the people who have simultaneously decided to weed-eat and mow.
Why can’t kids be lazy and stay inside all day playing video games like they’re supposed to? Sheesh.
(note: this thread is akin to the previous Marco! Polo! thread. Although I’m not ready to kill them, I AM considering asking them if they would shut up in exchange for a bag of dead groundhog)
