My guess is someone saw it and thought it “proved” he was struck by the vehicle, not realizing other video gives context showing that wasn’t the case. He just dropped the phone to pull out his gun.

Trump seems to think that a crime committed in plain sight just isn’t a crime.
In much the same way as he either hires people for their proven propensity to, or has them ‘trained’ to, act belligerent, pugnacious, defensive, and to counterpunch immediately, viciously, and relentlessly (which, I assume, looks like righteous indignation to That Crowd/Those People), this is the tenor of the administration.
It comes from old fashion customs. The ones from the Jim crow era when lynching minorities was a common occurrence (A time that by “coincidence” is when many MAGAs think that America was “Great”)". I pointed to a defender of Charlie Kirk that the right wing insistence to claim that the left was taking what Kirk was saying out of context, and everything would be ok if we looked at the context. (It was not, I found that Charlie was even worse)
So, I said that this mentality of believing that showing to others more of what they unfairly did to a minority or to a woman, is a similar mentality as the guy that released the whole recording of his group when they killed a black guy because he sincerely thought that showing the whole context would exonerate them… racism and bigotry does give blinders to the ones that pretend to not fall for those.

I believe that when the orange cocksucker was initially briefed on the incident, he wasn’t even interested enough to understand that the incident where Ross was dragged by a car was an entirely different driver, months earlier.
IIRC the video was originally released on a far right website. Which leads me to believe neither Ross nor the far right website thought there was anything wrong with it and it instead vindicated Ross or, at the least, made him some kind of hero. Since it was on his cellphone presumably Ross uploaded it thinking he was the hero in this. What a dbag. Makes his “fucking bitch” comment all the more insightful into his mindset moments after he murdered a young mother.

A federal agent exits his vehicle and starts running down the street at a member of the community. Running with purpose.
After falling on his ass, and making a fool of himself, he runs back to his vehicle and drives away.
If he didn’t fall down, what exactly was he intending to do? What important thing was going on that he, as a federal agent, felt impelled to exit his vehicle and rush to intervene? Did that important thing vanish when his ass hit the ice?
I suggest what he was intending to do was intimidate someone, to yell at someone and throw his weight around, to make someone feel scared. That’s what vanished when his ass hit the ice. That’s why he had to leave, instead of completing the task he was rushing to do.
