Agreed–and that’s a trivial thing to doubt. Why on earth would ICE lie about the number of folks they wanted to arrest?
When you tell one lie, you know you’re in the wrong.
When you tell two lies, you know the people listening to you are wrong for not calling you on it.
When all you tell are lies, then everything becomes true. Or, as The Conway calls them, “alternative truths”.
At this point I don’t think Jeff Sessions knows the difference between the lies he meant to tell, the lies he accidentally told because he didn’t know the truth, the lies he’s been forced to say for Trump, and lying just for the hell of it, because when you’re swimming in shit there isn’t much point in wiping your ass.

Make it seem more dangerous by inflating the number of “criminal” undocumented immigrants in the area.
Less protesting of whatever they might do.
Whatever dude. The OP quotes the article “.In fact, he said ICE couldn’t have possibly picked up those 800 people because the agency rarely captures 100 percent of the people it targets.” So the guy we’re all happy took a stand is lying about the 800 number? Or what?
Sometimes, a spokesman for the Trump Administration isn’t properly briefed on what today’s lie is supposed to be so they have to make up a spur-of-the-moment lie to tide them over. This can be a problem when the impromptu lie doesn’t match up with the official lie. This requires that a special lie be issued, denying that any of the previous lies were ever said. Of course, this procedure is negated if the President sends out a Tweet as lies told in that format automatically overrule any other lies.
I dunno–it seems to me that the fracas over 800 is completely beside the point. You might as well dispute that the raid was going to be a four-day raid. Focus on the relevant part of the story, which is that Sessions falsely claimed that these 800 were “wanted criminals,” and that they were free “all because of one mayor’s irresponsible action.”
This is more confusing than Elder Gods and Great Old Ones of the the Cthulhu Mythos. These guys really need a scholar of Thomas Aquinas to organize their hierarchy of mistruths and deceptions.
Actually, the point is deliberately lying about the objectives of an ICE operation specifically to malign and discredit the mayor of the city in which the operation occurred, a tactic favored by tyrants and despots throughout history. It tells you just where Jeff Sessions and those backing him stand on truth or the rule of law. This alone should be an impeachable offense sufficient to remove Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III from his post as US Attourney General. To have the person in the highest law enforcement office in the national telling bald-ass lies to advance a political agenda, notwithstanding his still unresolved lying under oath regarding contacts with Russian agents during the 2016 presidential campaign, is inexcusible, not only on Sessions part but by Congress in not pursuing any form of censure if not outright removal.

Perfect image for this – love it.

That was basically LHoD’s point so I don’t see why you began with “actually”.
