A famous UK strip cartoon character from the 40’s and 50’s was Jane. She appeared in the Daily Mirror and was aimed at adults more than children. This scantily clad girl had all sorts of adventures and usually ended up by losing even more of her clothes. As you can imagine she was a great hit with the troops and her picture adorned many RAF bombers.
