The British are coming!
I have always adored this quote. The man just sounded like pure class somehow…though name dropping usually sounds low-class.
And what I loved most about it was Quayle’s response. Just like in the movies, he actually seemed completely served, “Why I never!” Hahaaa!
Actually I think he said, ‘Sir, that was totally uncalled for’. Just as funny.
Seriously? Your name is Khan, and that’s the best you can do?

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

How about a question about how phrases become widely used? During the past year or so, I have heard a number of people IRL and even seen a few posters on SDMB begin a reply in conversation with “I know. Right?”. The way this has begun to crop up in disparate places, and the relative lack of meaning that it conveys, lead me to believe that this must come from a movie or a TV show. Does anyone know if that’s true? If so, which show?
Seinfeld, I think.
“What we have is a failure to communicate”
“I made him an offer he can’t refuse”
“I cudda been a contender”
and an old one…
“Tippicanoe and Tyler two”
