Found this on pinterest, and I would love to own it. Anybody happen to know the make? I am sure it is amazingly expensive, but a girl can dream =)
It looks like it might be a customized stove to me. I hope someone can identify it though.
It’s a La Cornue, one of their limited editions.
I’ve done two kitchens with them, similar in installation to an AGA. Pain in the neck but when you’re spending 20-50k, installation woes are not really your problem.
Oh THANK YOU!!!
since it is going to potentially go into my final home [I detest moving, so it will be designed to last until we have to be hauled off to assisted living!] the expense is well worth it. mrAru was guessing something in that price range.
That looks like it will be dreamy to cook with! I even have a full set of 1960s all copper Revere cookware to go with it!
So yes, it’s visually stunning. Not my idea of attractive, but to each their own… What makes it better than an “ordinary” high-end range like a Viking or Wolf? Do little French chefs whisper sweet nothings to the bread you’re baking? Will that copper Revere cookware not work on a GE range?
Viking or Wolf tend to be stainless/textured stainless and I happen to like color.
I can whisper my own French sweet nothings =)
And yes my copper batterie de cuisine will work on anything that is not straight induction [needing magnetic resonance to cook] but I loved the way the copper looks on the enameled surface.
The advantage to the high end ranges is in the array of cooking surfaces - certain types of cooking [very specifically woks] take a seriously high temperature to cook properly, there is a burner specificc to high temp cooking, that also deals with stuff like my 8- quart stock pot that takes a much larger diameter burner than is normally available on regular household cookers. This also has hte option of one electric/one gas oven, 2 electric or 2 gas ovens. Electric ovens are better for baking, they maintain temp better than gas, gas is better for broiling or anything that takes short hot sessions.
