ID book please. Difficulty: romance

I did a buttheaded thing last night. I returned one of my own books that I was reading to the library and failed to return the library book. I called the library when I realized this (this morning) and, despite being a smallish place where they all know me, they cannot find my book at all.

I searched the used book store ( tiny) and am annoyed with myself because it was actually pretty good. Yeah, I know how it will end and all that, but I need closure, dammit.

It is a sci-fi romance. Was was a finalist for a RITA award. It was , I’m pretty sure, a two word title, one of which was “King”.

Cover: bluish gray with a naked male six pack torso. the background could possibly look like stars or something. No woman on the cover or back.

I think the author was named Susan. she is a former USAF pilot who turned to writing.

Oh, fer fucks sake, I found it right after I hit submit.

The Star King
I’m such an idiot.

How can you forget the name and author of the book that you’re reading

Dude, it’s a romance. The name and author are kinda beside the point. She remembered the important stuff – the guy with the six-pack* on the cover!

(I’m a romance author. I kid because I love. :D)

  • whom we appear to have caught midst self-pleasure session, now that I’ve taken a look at that cover.

Wow, you’re not kidding!

In fairness he could just be taking a whiz, and from the angle of his head someone walked in to interrupt him.

Either way, quel romantique!

Yeah - whoa! If the cover of the book is any indication of its contents, I have a pretty good idea of why they “cannot find” your book. It’s because they’re looking for it in the library, instead of on the librarians’ bedside tables.

Just keep your hands where we can see them, Your Majesty.
