ID Star Wars rip-off Toys from 70's?

Need help from fellow Gen-X’ers:

Late 1970s. I had these 9inch action figures that were blatent rip-offs of Star Wars characters. They had different names and their own Sci-Fi story line, but even a child of 10 couldn’t imagine why Lucas didn’t sue them out of the stores.

R2D2 = A robot on tank treads with lasers for arms and clear dome as a head
C3P0 = Silver metallic body, with green “alien” rubber head
Darth Vader = Black armoured body with rounder Vader-ish head

That was it , 3 barbie sized dolls and an UFO space ship for R2D2 clone to fit inside.

Just looking for proper names of the figures or the series in order to prove to my brother that they did exist, and not just figments of his memories.

I can offer no help at all, but I too wonder what the hell those toys were. In fact, when I saw the thread title, I thought of exactly the thing you described.

The top of the UFO was a clear plastic dome as well, wasn’t it? When you stuck the R2-D2 clone in, he sat up in the center of the ship.

Yep Skeezix, that’s the one. Glad I’m not the only one who questioned their existance.
