I’m not sure- the IMDb link doesn’t really give a lot of information about the plot, and I would have sworn that the movie I’m thinking of was set in modern times (although given the tenuousness of my recollection, I wouldn’t guarantee that).

It’s close to what you’re saying but I can’t find much more to the plot, it might not even be about incest.

Maybe you’ll have more luck at the site or the name will pop out at your from the list on movies Screen Two made.

It was a 2hr movie (so maybe it was 90 minutes minus commercials).

It had normal movie type credits.

There were no peripheral characters; there’s no way this was a series. The story was completely self-contained.

When I say series, I didn’t mean an ongoing episodic show with recurring characters, but a set of self-contained stories under an umbrella title. Quite common with UK TV.

The channel that aired it must have been on a titillation jag, because the following week they showed a movie dealing with young lesbians.

In case this would help your search, this film was called Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, and it did indeed air on A&E.

Holy crap! My Google Fu worked. Actually Google only got me to the British Film Institute in a search for “incest in film” which linked to some commentary on a documentary about incest. It seemed like BFI knew what they were doing and a BFI database search for brother plus funeral called that up.

Glad to be a service. I know what a load it is to get stuff like that off your chest. Both the dope and newsgroups have saved me from sheer madness a few times trying to recall things I’ve forgotten.

Plus the BFi site is good, I’ll have to save that. Also it might have been altavista that found the site and allowed me to pip Steve Wright.
