ID this 1970s family film (Minister takes off pants to enter betting parlor)

Okay, I admit it doesn’t sound like much of a family film when the minister is stripping down and sneaking into a gambling house, but I’m pretty sure it was. The betting parlor was in the back of a legitimate-looking business. I think he had to fork over his pants as a sort of security that he wouldn’t spill the beans about the illegal gambling, but I’m hazy on the details. No idea why he wanted to get into the betting parlor in the first place.

That’s almost the only thing I remember from the movie. It must have come out around 1977, give or take. The minister had two kids he was taking care of, but I don’t think he was married. He may have been a widower or taking care of a niece and nephew. I want to say he rode a motorcycle or maybe an unsual kind of car, but I’m not sure.

Figuring out what this movie was has been driving me crazy on and off for years. Somebody tell me I didn’t imagine it all.

It’s a scene form The North Avenue Irregulars.

You saved my sanity. Or a semblance thereof. Thanks.

Looking on IMDB, I see it was a tailor shop that was the front for the betting parlor, and that’s why he had to take his pants off.
