Its a little two seater car, not quite a micro car as it had four wheels, made in France IIRC. It was a fancy little design and cost a fabulous amount of money, because of its two cylinder engine design that, IIRC again, had an alloy construction.
There were two models, one a successor to the other, and they didn’t last past the 70s because of the high cost. Any car fans recognise it?
You know, I’ve seen them, but the name escapes me just now. Expensive car, cast aluminum cowl area. The museum in Paris by the big arch-shaped office building had several of them.
Not a sports car, passenger and driver were enclosed, the body was a sort of teardrop shape.
I had an interesting article in an old car magazine on them but it was sent off with the rest of my old mags to Dad’s car club. Don’t think they’d know either, they’ve a definite slant towards British cars.
And if it helps, I think they were rear engined as well. They were made by a now defunct company, it wasn’t an offshoot of any big firm like Lexus/Toyota.
How about a Bugatti Type 57C Atalante Coupe? Like this one.
Expensive as hell? Check.
Two Seats? Check.
French? Check.
Teardrop shaped? Check.
Two cylinders? No.
Rear engine? No.
Looks like I got a few details wrong too, like the rear mounted engine and two seats, although I may may have been thinking of this Panhard, the 24CT in particular. Nice looking machine too.
