I’m guessing Stomolophus meleagris (aka “Cannonball Jellyfish”). They do seem to show up in North Carolina this time of year.
Oh, idding a jellyfish is easy. Egoing and superegoing one, however, involves precisely the kind of neural transplantation that that will cause those fools at the Academy to ship you off to Montana with nary a scalpel to your name.
