I am at the library again and they are stumped to remember the title or author about a boy who has a dad who is a truck driver and the difficulties they have in the relationship.
Age range is 3rd-5th grade.
Semi Vague.

I should clarify. The difficulties they have when dad is away on the road.
Try Dear Mr. Henshaw, I think that’s the name. Maybe by Beverly Cleary? I’m pretty sure the kid had a truck-driving dad who wasn’t around to help him with his problems (getting lunch stolen, etc.)
You are a genius!
You have just ended the misery of several library staffers here!
I love this place!
TYVM!!!
Oh man I was so exicted to have the answer to this and I’m too late! I knew the book just from the thread title.
I loved Dear Mr. Henshaw as a kid.
I agree. Dear Mr Henshaw and Strider were awesome. I wish Australian childrens’ literature was that good. But I think the Americans have gone downhill since the 80s
Oh, I loved that book as a kid. I think my hardcover edition is still at my mom’s house.
Beverly Cleary rules.
That would have been a good title, too.
