I remember this book growing up, but cannot remember the title or author. It was about a cowboy, Wishbone Bill (or some other name, but the wishbone part is correct) whose cattle were rustled by bad guys Cactus Joe (?) and Stinky Pete (?).
The rustlers put the cattle in a box canyon and Wishbone was out trying to find them and a big storm came in, with a flash flood in the canyon and Wishbone found them just in time to let them out.
