There was a song we sang in grade school, back in the mid-50s. The title was the name of a song from Mexico, and the song was about people dancing and clapping their hands. Parts of it are:
“See them dance and sing
'Till the rafters ring,
Clap their hands 'till they sting . . .”
". . . Dancing to and fro,
While the busy world passes by,
Down in Mexico . . .
With a smile in each dark eye.
