ID this Robert Plant song

I heard the first 15 seconds or so of a song on the radio this morning that was identified as being sung by Robert Plant. The announcer, unfortunately, didn’t give the name of the song. I’m hoping the Dopers can come through for me.

Unfortunately, I didn’t catch a single lyric. What I did catch was a distinct, high-pitched, six-note acoustic guitar lick that was repeated throughout the beginning of the song. The six-note lick actually sounds like a brief, high-pitched, three-note bit that is immediately repeated in an even higher pitch – and yet the six-note lick is readily discernable as a concrete whole. You can tell on this six-note lick that the strings are picked, not strummed – each note is very distinct from one another.

I hope that helps. BTW, I am familiar with many of Robert Plant’s solo hits, so here’s a short list of songs the song in question is not:

“In the Mood”
“Big Log”
“Heaven Knows”
“Tall Cool One”

(Upon reflection, there’s a chance this mystery song could be “Ship of Fools” … but I don’t remember the beginning of “Ship of Fools” having that six-note acoustic lick. If I’m remembering wrong, let me know).

If I hear it again anytime soon, I’ll try to catch some of the lyrics.

Sometimes Amazon.com has sample songs. Maybe you could hear the beginning of the tune there.

Could it be “Calling To You” off of “Fate Of Nations”? Your description is reminiscent of it.

“Sea of Love?”

Ahh, the Honeydrippers.

Maybe “I Believe” from Fate of Nations? One of my favorite Plant tunes. I’m at work and don’t have access to the CD, but as I recall, the intro is 10 notes (5 repeated twice) maybe 4 times before before the drums and guitar pop in.

Try that one. Real nice song.
