What are they? At first I thought they were Queen Anne’s lace or poison hemlock, but the leaves don’t match.

Look up gout weed/ bishops weed.

Yes, variegated bishop’s weed. It makes a decent groundcover but spreads like crazy where it’s happy. Best for spots where little else grows well.
Can somebody recommend a (free) phone app to identify plants?

ETA: I just tried it on the first picture and it came back with Aegopodium podagraria, which seems to be right.

Per the link, yes.
Maybe it looks ugly from another angle, but that’s not a bad looking plant to me.
The name snow-on-the-mountain is more typically associated with Euphorbia marginata, illustrating the confusion possible when only common names are used for plants.
