This is so obvious I’d have to think that it’s been done, so fight my ignorance: an album covering songs whose titles are all the names of women. I came up with this when I tried to teach myself to play Dylan’s “Sara” on guitar, and then switched to Lennon’s “Oh, Yoko.” I would never try this myself (you’d pay good money NOT to hear me play guitar, and a premium to hear me sing “Far, Far Away”–as my dad used to say, “Can you carry a tune? Good. Carry that one outside and bury it.” But someone should, and probably has. No?
McCartney’s “Linda” Clapton’s “Layla,” Chuck Berry’s “Oh, Carol.” Cohen’s “Suzanne”
And maybe there’s a followup album of songs addressing men by name?
