The GM (Director?) for our new Buffy game has pulled out of running it tomorrow. So as not to disappoint everyone, I said I would run something. I’ve only played one session of this game, but the rules seem pretty simple. The setting is a generic American high school, in a generic American town. The characters are all brand new, unknown to me, or each other. I feel like I’m staring at a blank page, with no idea where to start. Can anyone toss me some interesting, flexible plot ideas to get me started?
Vampire gang is planning something, but needs to “recruit” more vampires. But they’ve run into a series of problems with their victims that prevent them from rising as vampires–maybe some get cremated, the undertaker does something abnormal with the ones that are buried, etc. The PCs get clued in not just by the murders, but by sabotage to the crematorium, bizarre threats to the undertaker, or whatever.
Note that the gang’s plans are largely irrelevant and don’t necessarily need to be fleshed out.
One of the basketball players is a fairy. No. Literally.
All the players fall into a manga.
Turn 'em all into dolls. An old one, but a good one.
The school mascot just got stolen… by leprechauns.
Snow Ball is acccidentally held on the Winter Solstice. The band is the Ungrateful Undead.
Ooh, good one! The Spring Fling is held outdoors, on a fairy circle.
The lunchlady’s mystery meat is more mysterious than usual. Where’s Uter?
The lunchlady’s mystery meat is more mysterious than usual. It tastes… good. Everyone’s getting better grades. Acting more politely. Answering questions with proper grammar. Wearing neater clothes. Identical clothes. They start finishing each other’s sentences. Their eyes are… odd.
Thanks for the ideas! I’m going with a version of vampires + school mascot. E-Sabbath, you are funny :D.
