Film I reckon from the 1980s, animated, with dwarfs and princess and the like. The scene that I most recall is on a battlefield where a wizard or someone conjured up images of real people battling, nazi soldiers and the like to terrify the advancing army. Any idea what this film was called? Someone suggested to me it might be the Lord of the Rings cartoon but I’ve never seen it.

Wizards, directed by Ralph Bakshi. He went on to do an adaptation of LotR in a very similar style.
