Identify This Mike

I am lazy. Senhieser?

It appears to be a central point in all recordings. I want one.
Tune me in, I doubt I could afford it however. I am on a garage band budget.

ETA: MODS … this should probably be moved to CS even though I want a factual answer.

sE Gemini II apparently.

Retail at $1899, but Sweetwater will give it away at $1499.

Since you have your factual answer, let’s move this to CS so folks can discuss the artistic merits of the mike in question and maybe compare it to other (maybe more affordable) microphones.

Moving thread from General Questions to Cafe Society.

Thanks. ECG, and to Mr. Pierce…for the prize
That sucker sounds sweet. 1500 USD? whew

I still want it dnag nab it.
Color me stupid: however now that I am retired I get to spend my dollars indiscriminately once in a while. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry…

So…anyone have experience with this microphone?
Real-world tales would help before I shell out that much money.

So Telefunkens and Neumanns don’t cut it, then?
I’m sure there’s some that don’t cost an elbow and a knee.

myself - I print it mic, not mike (whatevs)

Microphones like this are way out of my price range so I have absolutely no familiarity with them whatsoever.

I did some poking around though and found this:

It’s from a review here:

They have the CAD M9 on Amazon but it’s currently listed as unavailable so I couldn’t get a price on it.

At that price point I should be allowed to to give it a name. So Mike it is.

Thanks.
I have shorn my locks, sold my grand-kids, auctioned off my Tele, given up my dreams for owning a Tesla and skipped lunch, only to find out said Mike is out of stock?

Dang. I am heart-broken.
I am going to take a nap - or something.

Mike, dammit!

That made me laugh.

On to sonic qualities …

From the videos I have seen and through the headphones I have, there is a certain “richness” that I can not explain.
I am familiar with such mics as Shure, et al.
I am impressed and asking why.

I’m not very good at identifying Mikes. Daves, on the other hand? I’d be happy to sing you a little song about the Daves I know. Would you like to hear a song about all the Daves I know, I know?

Go for it! I will loan you my Mike when it arrives via FeDexter :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously.
I am about to purchase this freaking mic. such a warm sound.
