Okay, this is sci-fi.
I have no idea what the name of the movie is, nor do I remember the names of the actors and actresses.
By the quality of the film stock, my guess is it was made in the 70s.
Two guys and a pregnant girl are at the side of the road, trying to flag down a taxi to take her to the hospital.
The taxi stops but only keeps repeating “Ya can’t miss it.”
Somehow, they make it to the hospital, where she gives birth.
The three begin to notice everyone in town are walking around in a daze, repeating the same act over and over again. Such as a billboard worker pasting up a new sign, tearing it back down again, and putting it back up.
Trying to get supplies to eat, they make it to a grocery store, full of these zombie/robot/people. Payment is no problem…they just walk out without paying, the zombies paying no attention.
In the center of town they come across some unnatural, organic structure in which the zombies occasionaly come to feed. Inside a chair is found, posessing no discernable function. One guy sits down in it, and recieves shock treatment, leaving him a bit “Goofy” for a while.
Sometime during this movie (I’m not sure when) there is a scene with a woman and newborn (The same pregnant girl or a zombie, I don’t remember) suddenly being levitated into the air…she is quite self-aware and is terrified for her baby.
Another scene in which they are in a bar and a can-can girl is dancing without the accompanying music.
They take the can-can girl ina hot-wired truck away from Zombie-town, thinking maybe she’ll snap out of it.
By now its night-time, and they come across a great glass wall. They attempt to break through throghing a boulder at it, but no good.
The shocked guy, tries ramming through the glass with the truck, but the truck only goes up in flames…and then goes up into the night sky as it is levitated.
I didn’t see anymore.
Anyone have a clue what this movie is?
