I got a PM as well, and I just want to say that Idle Thought’s secret is perfectly safe with me. Er, not that there is a secret of some kind. There isn’t. It was just a friendly note from her…him! HIM! …and I’m sure the current date is of no significance whatever.
Also, I can state categorically that sheep were not involved. To my knowledge.

I have a habit of overlooking PMs. Apparently, I was one of the recipients.
Honestly, Idle Thoughts, was this literally a shotgun to every mailbox, or was there some set of selection criteria? Because, I’m just this random non-paying freeloading guy. I have no idea what kind of qualification I had to be honored with that PM. 
As far as I know, I’m nothing special to anyone here. Don’t take it the wrong way, but none of you are part of my circle of special friends. You’re mostly fine human beings and all, but I just don’t make friends. So there’s no particular connection here.
That PM was about as appropriate and effective as a random phone call confessing exactly the same thing from some guy working on another floor of my job site. Which makes it half a step above a heavy-breathing call from some complete stranger.
Now I wish I had checked here before responding.

My reply had two thumbs up and a banned word.
I found it odd and thought it was a joke or hijacked account, but figured the repercussions of a flippant answer to what might be a serious heartfelt admission could be bad. A sincere answer to a joke makes me look like an idiot, but I can handle that.
I thought it was real so my reply was genuine and it’s nothing I’m ashamed of.
I also responded sincerely, and now feel like an idiot. :mad:

I thought it was fine, but I assumed it was an April Fools joke and never responded. I’m cool with it, not the best prank but harmless. 
Ironically, in my sincere response I said something about “don’t sweat it, it’s not like you’ve been playing with people’s emotions by pretending to be something you’re not.” And now it turns out he was.
No biggie, I’m not overly bothered by it. But the best pranks are those that cause people to laugh when they realize they got suckered, not feel like idiots.
I first thought it was really weird as I had forgotten what day it was. Then I remembered.
