IE Cache

I went to a website and it complained the cached version I have is corrupt. It told me to delete my IE cache files and try again. I don’t mind cleaning up my IE cache once in awhile, so I go to “Tools - Internet Options - Temporary Internet Files - Delete”. My IE stuck forever in the hour-glass. So I exited all my IE windows, found the IE cache on my C: drive and deleted the files manually. Some of the files refused to be deleted. Why?

IE 6.0.28…, Windows XP Pro.

Try restarting a couple of times then repeat the cache clearing routine - sometimes works. I’ve noticed that occasionaly it can take a very long time to delete cookies etc.

OK thanks. I just thought it was really odd the way these files were acting. First of all, when I delete a bunch of them XP doesn’t prompt and ask if I want to really delete these files, like it does for any other file I delete. Secondly, some of the files refuse to be deleted, with no error message stating why.
