If aliens said they created life on earth...(religious dopers especially invited)

This is a silly poll, but…If a group of aliens landed and claimed they’d ‘seeded’ the earth with life, how would people respond? How would you respond in particular, and what do you think your church would have to say about it?

What proof could / would they provide that would make you believe they were telling the truth?

From a religious point of view - well, my religious point of view - Earth was seeded by aliens? BFD. All part of God’s grand design one way or the other. (No, I’m not a Biblical literalist or a creationist.)

It’d be interesting, though, to see what evidence they could produce that a) they had the technology to do it, billions of years ago, and b) life on Earth could only have arisen by their direct intervention. I’d want something a little more substantial than a photo of aliens pouring the contents of a test tube over some rocks, with a caption “Great-great-granddad brings life to the Earth!” … What sort of proof could they produce, biologically or geologically?

Any church I’v eever been to would say these “aliens” were demons, here to deny the Gospel truth.
Me, heck, I’d say, THAT explains a lot.

I wouldn’t believe them, just because I’m a Doubting Thomas ™. After all - why bother going all this long way to seed a silly planet like earth? Why not do it closer to home? I’d pretty much figure it to be publicity stunt… Like humans going to another planet and saying “Aha! You little green aliens - WE created you! WE are the Almighty, and you must be our slaves!”

Damned if I’m going to be the little green alien that says “Oh, yes, sir, Mr. Alien God Thing, sir! Surely I’ll lick your spaceboots, sir!”

I would probably run away and hide in a cave. That sounds more like me.
