If elected, will Trump serve?

He’s used to management in private industry, when you tell someone, “Go and do that.” Go and build a hotel. Go and build a golf course.

He isn’t capable of handling the daily rejection of his commands. He has, from the start, spoken of the Executive Orders that he would issue. (He promised to make it a death-penalty offense, via executive order, for anyone to kill a policeman.)

He thinks he can be absolute ruler, and will not put up with the thousand daily rebuffs, rejections, and constitutional checks that the President must, in real life, put up with.

So, yes: Trump doesn’t want the real job of being President. He wants to be CEO of AmericaCorp, a job that does not exist.

I’d not heard that one. Could you point me to an article?

About two seconds on Google. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/10/politics/donald-trump-police-officers-death-penalty/

Trump may not be as bad of a president as many people think.
Yes, he will delegate almost everything to Pence and his subordinates and they will pare down some of his outrageous suggestions to something more manageable.

The question really becomes, just what role does the president have ?

If it is a semi-figurehead role where the President acts similar to the Queen, then Trump (believe it or not) would actually be very good at that.
He has been in the spotlight for 30+ years and despite some of his public gaffes, he is actually very good dealing with the constant bombardment of the media and would use that to his advantage

In this age of video/soundbites and twitter quotes, that is where Trump excels and in that aspect, he would actually do fairly well.
To demonstrate this, compare his on camera presence to someone like Jeb Bush.
This is not a knock against Jeb Bush but when comparing Jeb to Trump, Trump commands attention when he speaks whereas someone like Jeb is overlooked as he just doesn’t have that certain presence that Trump seems to possess.

Trump may have outrageous and bizarre ideas but he does grab one’s attention. That is where he excels and that is where he would be most effective at doing.
To further illustrate my point compare Jimmy Carter to Ronald Reagan.
Intellectually, Jimmy Carter would run circles around Ronald Reagan. However, Carter gave the perception that he tried to micro-manage things and his image with the public was generally favorable but he just didn’t have a
commanding presence that the public expects of a president.

In comparison, Ronald Reagan grew up in Hollywood and knew the value of putting on a show, so when he spoke and would address the nation, people listened and he projected a being very likeable president and the public knew where he stood. He also didn’t try to micromanage and left that to his subordinates.

Going back to Trump, if he spends most of his time being a figurehead, it may not be so bad

Don’t mind those little Russian annexations…they don’t mean anything.

Reading them made me shudder even more ! And I am not a fan of Hillary either .
