If God asked you to abolish a commandment, which would it be?

Your right, he should have realized his disciples and followers would eventually distort his message of love and respect towards others.

My belief is that he didn’t come down to “teach religion”.

If only. If only.

“Thou Art That”. Your sarcasm brings out an inner truth.

And by the way, I would take out number two. I love graven images!

Depends on what you mean.

If I assume there is no God, then I’d leave the commandments but abolish anything in the bible people use to justify holy wars or rejection of medicine and contraception.

If abolishing a commandment would allow me to to break it without hellish consequences I’d go for the hardest to keep - coveting, vain-name-taking, or having God as my lord. If my parents weren’t so wonderful, I might have to go for the honoring them one.

The really interesting one is if abolishing the commandment means it’s not wrong to break it. I’d probably go for adultery
