If I buy my new BlackBerry from Amazon, how do I get it to work?

I’ve got AT&T, and I’m ready to upgrade from my old Nokia 6555 to a BlackBerry Bold 9700.

Amazon has a great price: $49.99 compared to the $199.99 AT&T wants.

My question is simple. If I buy the phone from Amazon, how will I make it work? Do I just take the SIM card out of my Nokia and stick it in the BlackBerry? Do I just take it in to the AT&T store and say, “here, I bought a new phone, make it work”?

I see now that what is normally the “Add to cart” button is actually the first step in extending my contract with AT&T.
