"If it weren't for my horse... "

“… I wouldn’t have spent that year at college.”

Fans of Lewis Black will no doubt be familiar with the quote and its brain-ooze-inducing capabilities. Could this be the meaning behind the quote? (Registration may be required)

Frankly, I had no idea this sort of thing went on at colleges.

The joke was from a Comedy Central special in 2000, IIRC.

:smack:

He said he overheard that line, but didn’t hear the beginning of the conversation.

That sounds plausible, though.

It’s dark in here… and we may die.

Nope, I refuse to accept this as a possibility. The line has to retain its absurdity. I’m telling you, if I don’t laugh hysterically (as I usually do) the next time I listen to this routine, I’m not going to forgive you, av8rmike

My friend likes to quote that line (I haven’t heard / seen the routine myself), but for the life of me I don’t find it that absurd. I must be the only one on the planet who thinks it kind of makes sense.

Maybe somebody was betting on the ponies and won enough to pay for a year of college?

Maybe somebody planned on joining the military, but due to a horse-riding accident had to reevaluate what they planned on doing after High School. Hence, college.

Now, if he had said whores

Dude, did you guys even click the link?

:stuck_out_tongue:

We’re busy discussing the quote. We’ll get to the link eventually.

I like it, and I laugh everytime I hear it/. I hope there is never a rational explanation for it.
