It’s been circling Havana for several days, now, although it seems that the majority of the passengers were in favor of the new destination.
A half-baked observation, sirrah!
So because some people have served poisoned pizza nobody should eat it ever again? That’s pretty shortsighted of you.
How’s that Taco Bell diet working out for ya?
and we are back to the pizza issue. :smack:
That was such a popular joke a million years ago. Hadn’t heard that one in a while. Good one.
So you’re saying I should never eat Mexican food again because Taco Bell served someone some bad burritos?
You can’t be “noticing” very hard then, because while people didn’t directly quote Poly’s account, a lot of the pre-derailed discussion was over or at least aiming for sussing out this concept of a spiritual body and its connection to a physical body, especially one that had once been dead.
No, I’m saying that when you become aware of a food poisoning problem at a particular establishment, many people wisely choose not to patronize that establishment until they’re able to assure you that they’ve solved the problem. An idiot, however, chooses to eat there twice a day, regardless, because he hasn’t yet been poisoned.
You’re still able to function, despite your exposure to Xianity? That’s nice, but it doesn’t mean that Xianity is good for mankind at this point in time.
I wanted to respond to the part of your post that was not a dodge of the question PBear42 asked you.
I see no sussing out of the concept of a spiritual body or its connections. Where is this alleged sussing? Surely you are not including in your sussage anything as silly as a demand for empirical evidence of a spirit, are you? And if you have sussed with logic, where is your tableau?
I see your suss and raise you two susses. If you would like to consolidate your sussage into the OP of a new thread, I’ll be happy to look at it and participate in a discussion about it.
Mmm… bread and sussages.
Yeah, Sapo, I plead guilty to perpetrating an old joke. I think it happened once before. In 1960… Ow! Ow! Stoppit!!
All I’m saying is that Taco Bell doesn’t exactly have the monopoly on Mexican food. And it’s much better at those other places, too.
You’ve been exposed to Christianity as well, would you consider yourself “able to function” (whatever that’s supposed to mean)?
I’ve been immunized, thanks.
No. I asked several pointed questions about and caricatures regarding the nature and responsibility and intentionality of the transference of wounds from one body to another before things got off track, and so I reject this sort of bad faith refusal to read what I wrote, your attitude, and your MO.
Okay…
So are we pizzas, tacos, or viruses?
Despite the strangled syntax of that sentence, I get the gist of it. Does it pretty much amount to, “I have spoken, so mote it be.”?
Where in the Bible does it say to burn witches or homosexuals?
I have not read the Koran but as I understand it from some Muslims it is supposed to be a religion of peace.
I do not believe either book is the word of God as I do know it was written by humans.for humans. The sincere people I know seem to look for good and try to be good towards others. The radicals look for excuses to use a few passages to their own ends.
Monavis
How could he NOT? They are both the same dude. Remember that whole Trinity thing?
This is where religious people lose me; they turn logic into a pretzel in order to attempt to make sense of the absurd.
And others say it tells them to blow up the infidels.
If it was written by humans then the humans who follow these books can remove the questionable passages. They chosen not to for some reason. Maybe they because they agree that you should burn witches? Dunno.
But most people who follow these books think they are the direct word of god, or at the least inspired by him. Why would god put such questionable passages in his books if it is about Christ’s love, or is a book of peace?
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
For the full range of cruelty and inhaminity to gays in the Bible, see http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/gay/long.htm
The Koran doe snot actually propose a punishment for homosexuals but it clearly condemns them:
Homosexual acts are condemned as unnatural. (Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?) 7:80-81
Male homosexual activities are condemned as unnatural. Surah 26:165-6
Male homosexuals commit abominations and act senselessly. Surah 27:54-55
Male homosexuals acts are condemned as unnatural. Surah 29:28-29
The Hadiths, which are the recorded sayings of Mohammed and much used in modern Islam to justify various acts of bigotry, cruelty and violence, usually record that homosexuals should be killed.
In Iran, they are frequently hanged.
In many other Muslim countries, gay people are taken to prison where, for a few dollars, the helpfull staff of the prison is willing to help the family preserve its honour by stringing the young man (rarely is it a woman) up in his cell and letting him, strangle slowly and painfully. He is then recorded as having committed suicide and the family honour is saved. All parise be to Allah, the just, the merciful!
In Egypt last year, a number of gay men found partying on a boat were condemned to stiff prison sentences over the objections of governments and human rights organizations throughout the world.
Ain’t religion wonderful?
