I don’t know about that as far as why the numbskulls are worked up, but I tend to agree with the libertarians; one of the people I’ve respected most in my life was a guy named Salvador who was a dishwasher at the Chili’s I worked at one summer in high school. This guy was working like 6 days a week as a dishwasher at a Chili’s, and spending his nights in English classes and citizenship classes. He was probably the single hardest working guy I’ve ever met in my life, and he was unfailingly humble, polite and helpful to the 16 year old kid who didn’t know what he was doing as a busboy and a janitor. Plus he was excited as could be to tell me about his citizenship classes and to try his English on me.
I can’t help but think that as a nation, we need MORE guys like Salvador, not less.
